Chryssanthi Kouri is a writer and director based in London and Athens, with a background in film and theatre. She has written and directed six short narrative films and has directed over 12 short & long plays at London’s Off-West End stages. Currently, she also works as a Director/Producer for broadcast TV in the UK.
As both a writer and director, her interests lie in female-led, character-driven stories about the human condition and existential themes. With her style of storytelling, she aims to create stories that are relatable, visually engaging, and emotive.
Her first feature screenplay Solo London, an ensemble piece exploring the themes of loneliness and isolation in London, was a top three finalist at the Euroscript Screenwriting Competition. She was also selected to take part at the Aegean Film Festival’s Storytelling Lab, with a scholarship from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, to develop the idea for a dark comedy-drama series, which has recently been optioned by an Athens-based independent production company. Chryssanthi has several other scripts at various stages of development.
